The large, luxurious homeThe main house, featuring classical architecture where symmetry is respected, is constructed from freestone which results in smooth rusticated masonry. The door, on a porch way, is flanked by fluted pilasters with cabling and topped with an elegant curved pediment roof dormer. Two short wings on each side have a roof dormer featuring an oculus. The four-sided, pyramid roofs, the main one having a roof break, are covered in natural slate with an old zinc ridge.
Ground floor The entrance hall is bright with freestone walls and a white marble floor. A stairway, on the right-hand side, is also made of white marble and features finely wrought iron railings. Double doors open into a dining room, with a sculpted, white marble fireplace, a stone floor and an elegant ceiling adorned with moulding featuring gold leaf gilding. The lounge also has a white marble fireplace and a ceiling decorated with moulding and roses enhanced with gold leaf gilding. The solid wood parquet flooring is laid in a herringbone pattern. The study has similar flooring but its fireplace is made of brown marble. A corridor, on the left-hand side of the entrance hall, provides access to a toilet and cupboards as well as a small bedroom which nevertheless has gilded ceiling moulding, herringbone pattern parquet flooring and a light blue fabric on the walls. The retro-style, fully fitted kitchen features floor tiles. There is also a laundry room, following on from the kitchen and providing access to the cellar.
First floor A corridor on the right-hand side of the landing provides access to three south-facing bedrooms with ceiling moulding, wall fabric and carpet as well as storage cupboards. There are also two bathrooms, one of which has a toilet.
